Troubleshooting Browser-Related Issues

Occasionally the cache for your browser can cause inconsistent behavior for QuickBooks Online if it is out of sync (the cache is a performance enhancement feature of your browser). The easiest way to rule that out is to utilize the Private Browsing feature of your browser. You can set that in several different ways, depending upon the browser, but here are a few keyboard shortcuts for the most common browsers for a desktop device:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift + N
  • Safari 11 or newer: ⌘ Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl Shift

You may also clear the cache to fix errors in QuickBooks Online. Lastly, make sure to use an up-to-date browser if using QuickBooks Online.

Note: Some browsers can be installed with the Private Browsing feature unavailable. If this is the case with your browser you may need to install another browser for doing testing and troubleshooting.
