On My Way Text

The On My Way Text is a BizScheduler V3 feature that permits your worker to tap a button on Mobile Work Orders to let the customer know that they are on their way. The feature permits you to customize the message that is sent from each worker, including their picture. This provides a huge upgrade in your Customer Service level, especially for new customers who don't know who will be coming to perform the services that you provide.

Setup Requirements:

Your BizScheduler needs to have a few settings in place for this service to work. Go to the Hub for all of these.
  1. First, you must have Text Messaging Services enable for your BizScheduler. If you don't yet have this service, contact your BizScheduler Account Representative

  2. Under the Setup/Configuration section of the Hub:
    1. Click the Job Note Types link:
      1. Click the Add New link
      2. Add a Job Note Type (if there isn't one already) for identifying the On My Way Text entry (something like OnMyWay would work great)
      3. Click the Check Mark to save the Job Note Type
      4. Note: when a worker clicks the Send On My Way text button from their Mobile Work Order, BizScheduler places that into the customer's job notes. This gives you an historic record of the communications between this feature and your customer, including any errors that may have occurred when sending it.
    2. In Configuration Options (type "on my way" in the Find textbox to speed this along):
      1. Set the Mobile Work Order On My Way option to Yes
      2. Set the On My Way Job Note Type to the Job Note Type you created in the previous step
  3. From the Workers screen under the Tools section of the Hub:
    1. Find or Create the worker you want to enable On My Way Text capabilities for
    2. Click the Add Worker Bio in the upper right of the Worker screen (or the picture if it has already been created)
    3. In the Use Reply options from notification template, set the text Notification that has the setting you want this Text to use for delivery errors and replies
    4. Follow the directions provided on the screen in the How it works and Notes sections to set everything up
    5. Click the Save button after making your changes
    6. You can then use the Test button to see the result of your setup (provided your Worker record has a phone number with Phone Type of Cell.

Operations:

Once everything is setup, your worker will be able to send an On my way text, as long as the Customer has at least 1 phone number with a Phone Type of Cell. To send the text:
  1. Tap the Job in Mobile Work Orders to expand the view
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the Job and tap the Send On my way text button
  3. Tap Yes when asked to confirm
Of course, just because the customer record shows a Phone Type of Cell doesn't meant that it actually is a cell number, so if you find that the text does not go through, you will want to confirm that:
  1. It actually is a cell phone number, and
  2. that they have text messaging on their account.
