Display or Hide Inactive Customers

Display or Hide Inactive Customers

To change the setting of this feature, go to the Hub and click the Configuration Options link under the Setup / Configuration section. Set the Show Inactive Customers option to Yes or No, depending upon your preferences. If set to No (the default), inactive customers will not appear in search results on any screen where you can search for customers.

The one exception is on the Custom Search screen, where you can explicitly select to view customers which are Active, Inactive, or both. When the Show Inactive Customers option is set to Yes, then you will see inactive customers in all search results, but the inactive customer's name will appear in italics.

By allowing you to see inactive customer names, you can still find a customer's history and perhaps any notes as to why you made them inactive. If, for example, there were significant problems working with a customer which caused you to make them inactive, it would be good to know about this before you did additional business with them. Another customer may have been set inactive because they moved out of the area. If they moved back to the area and called for service, you would be happy to welcome them back as a loyal customer.
