BizScheduler provides a structure for you to divide your company into more manageable units, called Areas. An Area can be any logical division of your business that improves your ability to manage and schedule your activities. Each Area has its own Job Calendar, days and hours of operation, and available Workers. BizScheduler is initially configured with one area, but there is no limit to the number of Areas you can create in BizScheduler.
Areas can be geographical, so that the schedule for an Area reflects a specific geographic location (e.g. North County, South County, Downtown). Areas can be based on functional characteristics, as in Maintenance vs. Construction. You could use Areas to divide and highlight the scheduling of resources, with one area used for Equipment, another for Crews and another for Subcontractors.
Setup and Configuration of Areas
Changes to your Area and creation of additional Areas is done by clicking the Areas link under the Setup / Configuration section of the Hub.
There are specific attributes that you can set for your Areas, including:
- Area Name
- Earliest time to show on calendar
- Latest time to show on calendar
- Weekly calendar displays
- Background color
- Show on Smart Scheduling
- Has Calendar
- Active
From this screen you have the ability to quickly see all of your workers (whether those are employees, equipment, subcontractors, etc.) in one place to manage the following settings:
- Show workers on calendar
- Can be on a crew
- Accessible By
You can also change the name that your Areas are referred to within BizScheduler by clicking the Configuration Options link under the Setup / Configuration section of the Hub and setting the Area Term to something that fits your business better. For example, you might divide your Areas by Counties, so you would change the Area Term to "County" and make sure that each of your Areas is a county name.
